24-Hour CT Scan in Kumasi
A CT (computed tomography) scan uses X-rays and a computer to produce detailed cross-sectional images of the body in minutes. It is the fastest way to investigate head injury, stroke, chest and abdominal pain, kidney stones, cancer staging and many other conditions. CT scans we perform: head and brain CT, CT of the sinuses and neck, chest CT, abdomen and pelvis CT (with or without contrast), spine CT, CT urography (KUB), CT angiography, CT-guided biopsy and drainage, and virtual colonoscopy.
How to prepare: bring your doctor's request form and any previous scans. For contrast studies you may be asked to fast for 4 to 6 hours and to tell us about kidney problems, diabetes or allergies. Wear comfortable clothing without metal. The scan itself usually takes under 10 minutes.
Results: reports are prepared by our radiologists and sent to you and your referring doctor, typically the same day. Urgent cases are reported immediately.
